ABSTRACT

Performance seduces me, pulls me in, makes me want to hear. Its seduction comes in many resonant and dissonant forms, forms that enter me, that tell me who I am and who I’m not. I welcome all the resonant and dissonant voices as a potential impetus, as a possible case, ensuring my return. I proceed by revealing why I continue to place myself in the presence of performance, why I spend countless nights directing and witnessing bodies on stage, why I want to hear others’ resonant and dissonant voices, why I welcome the seduction.
