ABSTRACT

Sawada Kenji was unprepared for the greeting that awaited him in the reception area of Narita Airport. When he pushed through the double doors from customs clearance, he was met by a line of four men standing with their legs assertively spread and their arms folded on their chests. The reception area, as always, was crowded with arriving passengers and others there to greet and assist them, but the four men ignored all of the action around them. Their clothing varied in details, but all wore tight, slightly belled pants, wide lapel sports coats, and dark silk shirts. Their hair was closely cropped and all four wore extremely pointed shoes. Even though they were inside, three of the men wore dark glasses.
