ABSTRACT

PHALANGES (FIGS. 57-59) For most of the following descriptions, no distinction is made between the phalanges; of the manus and those of the pes. In most cases, there is no useful difference between them. Only in human skeletons is it possible to tell them apart reliably. Each digit of the manus and pes is made up of three (some times two) phalanges: proximal, intermediate and distal.
