ABSTRACT

The purpose of the first meeting is to get everyone together and to develop a shared understanding of the language of the Framework, getting to know what the words “Criteria,” “Aspects,” “Call-outs,” and “Rationales” mean. Peers, coworkers, and/or students meet to discuss the vocabulary and the process and to go over the steps of using the Framework. Depending on the type of group that gets together and people’s experience with the Framework, the start of the meeting will vary: https://s3-euw1-ap-pe-df-pch-content-public-p.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/9781315425818/f87f867e-b5ee-4f11-b85c-52a9ac162883/content/fig0019.tif"/>

If the group consists of all in-house staff or museum studies students together in a class, the participants will already know each other, and one person might be the appointed leader.

If the group consists of peers from different institutions in the same city, the introductory meeting will help people get to know who is around the table and who to expect to see again at the second meeting. There does not need to be a leader.
