ABSTRACT

A banquet was laid on for dinner at a local restaurant. Once again we had a room to ourselves. A big round table in the middle of the room was set with eight places, each with three sizes of drinking glasses – tiny, juice-sized, and water-sized. Several small plates of carefully arranged appetizers – peanuts, sliced meat, pickles and such were already on the table. It was Joe’s place to sit on the right side of Dr. Wu, but I contrived to sit on his left. It was he who had excavated at the site, and I hoped to get some anecdotes and nitty gritty details.
