Dollars for the Silent South: Southern White Liberalism and the Julius Rosenwald Fund, 1928–1948

It would only be fi tting to end this subdivision on the history of race philanthropy in the sociological study of Blacks with an extensive examination of the inter-World War foundation which did the most for race reform work and would become a model in many respects for the race reform work of the new Ford Foundation of the 1950s: the Julius Rosenwald Fund.
