ABSTRACT

These kinds of repeated experiences suggest to us that one of the most pressing needs is for evaluation to be practised as an ordinary everyday part of what we do-rather than saved up until later when things have settled down, or when there is more to show for what we’ve done, or when we can afford the time, or when it seems easier. But when do things ever settle down? When is it ever easier? When is there ever time?! And meanwhile, can we risk going on thinking we’re getting it right-but perhaps not? Or suspecting we’re not, but preferring ‘not to go there’?
