ABSTRACT
We recommend that you immerse yourself in the seminal works (books authored individually and together by Glaser and Strauss) first, before delving into the modified, or even hybrid, versions of grounded theory. Reviewing grounded theory dissertations and theses will also prove invaluable. Dictionaries of philosophy and sociology can be lifesavers. Terminology is always a source of frustration, especially when terms are used interchangeably or you notice within your discipline the term means one thing and your colleagues from another discipline have attached a different connotation. Seek out a reliable reference source for accurate definitions and then make explicit how you are operationalizing certain terms.
