ABSTRACT

Selecting a narrator for the documentary's voice over commentary and finding other talent such as character voices to read journal entries is tasks for the documentary filmmaking team principles. In a documentary that uses narration, this element is integral to the whole production, since it ties together the visual images and interviews to tell the story in a smooth, flowing manner. Without great narration, the production can seem choppy, lacking in continuity, and emotionally flat. A powerful narration depends on both a compelling voice and a well-crafted. This chapter provides some characteristics of good narration text are as follows: Narration breathes life into the B-roll, photographs, illustrations, maps, and animation, narration should be grammatically correct, narration helps advance the story and so on. It also provides some characteristics of a good narration voice are as follows: A narrator's voice fits the content or mood of the documentary, a narrator's fee should fit within the documentary production's budget and so on.
