OTHER RESOURCES AROUND It can seem daunting to ‘want to do some research’ and feel like you are starting from scratch. Fortunately, you come equipped with all your own natural abilities to observe, think, feel,

re ect, imagine, plan, try out and observe again. And there are also many resources available to the would-be social researcher if they know where to look and what to look for, or can see the opportunities already existing in their situations. This chapter describes the ‘who, what, when, where and why’ of four key resources: funding, experienced researchers, the literature and help with statistics.
