ABSTRACT

In 1966 Kathleen’s archaeological efforts were disrupted by her responsibilities as a Trustee of the Palestine Archaeological Museum for, in November of that year, the Museum was nationalized. Awni Dajani, the Director of Antiquities, had wanted to do this for years. When Jerusalem got a new governor, Dajani approached him on the matter, candidly admitting to K that the move had nakedly political and nationalistic motives.
