ABSTRACT
WE DROVE TO CHEYENNE IN LATE JULY OR EARLY AUGUST. THE WEATHER was extraordinarily hot and humid. Of course, for a family who had just spent the last two years in London, anything over 70 degrees was extraordinarily hot. Perhaps it wasn’t uncomfortable by local standards. Perhaps our complaints about the weather were merely signs of a more general malaise.
