ABSTRACT
The anatomy of ‘zero-waste’ is given in this chapter in the context of its origin, development history. The chapter provides a comprehensive analysis of the zero-waste philosophy in regards to resource consumption, product design and existing manufacturing practices and their impact on waste generation and management. The prerequisites to achieve the zero-waste goals such as circular material flow and circular economy are analysed in this chapter.
