ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents a closing thoughts on key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book recognizes that current models and levels of democratization can never be enough, that neither justice nor democracy can ever be satisfied or achieved no matter how their aims, scope and practices are conceived. It clarifies what the 'radical' stands for and entails in the multi-faceted project of radical democracy. The book argues that only authoritarian regimes will have the political muscle to enforce the socio-economic restructuring that global problems such as climate change crisis will require. Finally, it also argues, conceived critically or creatively, as a justice-driven and responsive political practice that always means a potential for democratization that is never able to be completely ruled out or guaranteed, radical democracy offers a perspective for dissensus, for contesting and re-envisioning the givens of world.
