ABSTRACT

As an organizational basis for my remarks I shall recall some of the highlights of the ancient Greek myth concerning Perseus and the Gorgon Medusa. As you may remember, the wicked king of Seriphos, Polydectes, sent Perseus on what was presumed to be an impossible mission: he was to slay Medusa and bring back her head.
