Radical Left in Portugal and Spain (1960–2010)

This chapter analyses the evolution of the radical Left in Portugal and Spain from the 1960s to 2010. The radical Left had a leading role during the democratization processes in both countries, but it was marginalized with the consolidation of liberal democratic regimes. This chapter provides some historical and political grounds from which radical politics re-emerged in Spain and Portugal after the economic crisis.
