ABSTRACT

In the practice of law, there is a gap between what we know and what we can prove. Remarkable advancements in medicine, forensics, and technology have helped bridge that gap in several respects. Scientific evidence plays a role in court cases with increasing regularity, oftentimes providing decisive proof of a crucial issue in a matter before the court. The increased use of scientific methods of analyzing and presenting evidence has led to the development of a body of case and statutory law addressing its admissibility in court and its use in the workplace.
