ABSTRACT

Once it is decided what type of podcast a person wants to do, identified an audience and figured out how to record audio, it is time to think about planning that first episode. This is a chance to establish a work structure that will carry him/her forward week to week and ensure he/she will produce a quality podcast on time and with regularity. Looking for like-minded individuals who want to podcast who can share the workload and help develop the content is important. The key to good planning is matching discussion points and guests to the broader mission of the podcast. A simple structure helped Panoply plan and launch the pilot episode of one of the network's most successful podcasts-Happier with Gretchen Rubin. Unless a person is the most articulate and fascinating host on the planet, he/she will want to have other voices on his/her podcast.
