ABSTRACT

Producing a podcast with any regularity is difficult. Beyond having passion for the topic, a person needs to be committed to doing the work necessary to succeed. One of the key decisions needed to make when planning a podcast is how often to post a new episode. John Lee Dumas posts a new episode of his podcast Entrepreneur on Fire seven days a week. Podcasters like to debate what the ideal length of an episode should be. Some episodes can be a few minutes, whereas others can go on for hours. Another important guideline that may seem obvious but people tend to forget about is to produce quality content that people will enjoy listening and coming back to again and again. Ultimately, the reason of creating a podcast is so people will listen. Identifying audience before starting to will make it easier to create content they can relate to and find enjoyable.
