ABSTRACT
Most events produce mountains of ‘waste’ and have the potential for excellent resource recovery. Eating, drinking, site build, décor and staging all play a part in the creation of residual materials, which if not managed correctly, will end up as waste. Designing-in ways to prevent or reduce it in the first place, and viewing residual materials as a resource to be recovered, are essential elements of event sustainability management.
