ABSTRACT

The course lays out the significance of the international tourism industry, which represents nearly 10% of the global economy, from economic and environment management viewpoints. It provides students with an understanding of how mainstream tourism operates, its supply chains, and how each sector of the business approaches environmental management. Large organizations such as the World Travel and Tourism Council bring strong resources to bear in order to point out the industry's value economically, socially, and environmentally. Conferences have been held to discuss how tourism brings peaceful interchange, human development, and personal understanding of our place on the planet. The Green Economy report focuses on how the world can transition to a more equitable, culturally respectful global economy that allows for scaled-up economic growth. The report predicts that greater efficiencies in resource use will bring great benefits to society at large.
