ABSTRACT

As a result of PISA’s practical uses and political impact worldwide, there is much research literature investigating its use and influence across a wide range of topics. The research reported in this chapter investigates the variety of topics focusing on PISA and explains the degree to which PISA-focused research is linked to national educational policy discourses responding to international education agendas influenced by the OECD. The argument is that while PISA may facilitate international and comparative education research, it does so in a way that largely supports and fulfills rather than resists or reforms international education agendas.
