ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the light of social learning and bonding with other children. Play behaviour has a significant role in the development of future social behaviour an important aspect of play that they will examine empirically. The influence of play in promoting cognitive, physical and socioemotional development is apparent even during infancy. Furthermore, different types of play help to promote distinct abilities. Atypical development in children can be classified into different groups. There has been extensive research on the play behaviours of children on the autism spectrum disorder and those with Down and Williams syndrome. Group dynamics also influence popularity within play groups and established adolescent social networks. According to children and adolescents use play and social networking as a means of acquiring social skills concerning how to treat peers. The influence of play in promoting cognitive, physical and socioemotional development is apparent even during infancy.
