ABSTRACT

A digital source can be established for random access, breaking away from the need for linearity, which will be essential for more complex interactive designs. Also, the digital video projectors are designed with a digital signal in mind, which produces a better image if the projector is receiving data from a digital source than an analog source. The most often used medium for analog signal distribution was magnetic tape. DVcam was not only used for professional cameras, but was also converted into a miniature tape format for consumer camcorders. Optical disks have the benefit of rapid selection if each cue is set as a chapter on the disk. Some cameras do record directly to an optical disk while most now record to a solid state media. As more systems are dependent on computers for control and playback, the preferred method of playing content will be directly from the computer's hard drive.
