ABSTRACT

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard requires that manufacturers establish the projector in a controlled environment with less than 1% ambient light and an established contrast ratio, and with the projector in a presentation ready state. When presenting still images or relatively small text, optical precision is much more important than it is for content with continual motion or less identifiable subjects. It is preferred for the projectors to be physically stacked one over another, as the alignment process is considerably easier because many large venue projectors are equipped with stacking hardware. A narrower angle lens will concentrate the light, making it appear brighter than does a wide angle lens covering a greater surface area. Depending on how the projector processes the signal, when it is digitally shifting the image and it exceeds the data available, the projector may blank the signal, or it may continue with the last available information.
