ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book describes cultural entrepreneurship by exploring the lived experience of cultural workers within a social and policy context. It discusses significant themes in entrepreneurship studies to frame and inform an exploration of cultural entrepreneurship. The book also discusses the field of entrepreneurship with critical debates from cultural studies and cultural policy studies. It describes the process of analysing personal narratives as subjective experiences, expressed in a relational context in which the interviewee and researcher are embedded within the same network. The book finds that the experiences of cultural entrepreneurs are not easily reduced to being 'pushed' or 'pulled' into entrepreneurship. It focuses on the cultural entrepreneur within a geographical location and in relation to relevant local policies and structures.
