ABSTRACT

In the past decade, the discussion about spirituality as an academic discipline became stronger and stronger. At the beginning of this discussion, spirituality was considered as a part of different theological disciplines, then it developed as a specific theological discipline: the theology of spirituality, sometimes also called “spiritual theology.” Nevertheless, spirituality is at the heart of every theology, but spirituality is not necessarily a theological discipline. A fruitful dialogue between theology and spirituality is of great importance. Fields include mysticism, post-Holocaust-spirituality, and theology.
