ABSTRACT

T h e r e are certain things that make Hinduism, as a living religion, very difficult for the West to under stand-especially for those who are members of reformed Churches and live in the colder northern climate, where nature is stern and hard rather than full of colour and warmth and brightness. It is so easy to be offended by these surface things, which are repellent, and to take no account of the deep inner spirit that lies beneath.
