ABSTRACT
T hose who come out to the East from Europe and America have often great difficulty in understanding at first what heavy encumbrances an ancient civiliza tion is obliged to carry with it owing to the accumu lations of the past which cannot be thrown off quickly without losing precious treasure in the process.
