AN EVENT IN THE CULTURE OF CO-OPERATION: NATIONAL CO-OPERATIVE FESTIVALS AT CRYSTAL PALACE

The National Co-operative Festival, held annually at the Crystal Palace in London between 1888 and 1910, has been largely neglected by the movement’s historians. This chapter aims to explore the de­ velopment, role, and eventual demise of this event which drew so much attention from outside as well as within the movement, during these years.
