ABSTRACT

This chapter examines how Analytical Psychology tools can parse the relationship between culture and change to help understand the process of an individual's transformation experience. Psychotherapy research is a rapidly developing area of study that is important for solving practical questions about psychotherapy application and for developing a deeper understanding of an individual's transformation process as well. Multidimensional transformations are an inherent part of modern life for individuals. The Department of Clinical Psychology at Vilnius University conducted research on historical heritage and psychotherapy based on the theory of Analytical Psychology. A portion of those studies was directed toward deeper understanding of psychopathology as a consequence of trauma or an authoritarian regime. The evaluation of dynamic factors in therapeutic work and the exploration of the subjective experience of therapy are complex processes. Identifying different sources for gathering data can be helpful in revealing the complexity of the whole process.
