ABSTRACT
Providing a safe and secure environment is a priority for sport venue operators due to the potential for all-hazard emergencies and subsequent legal implications. The education and training of all key security personnel is critical to ensure that effective security measures are implemented and that an all-hazards approach to emergency planning is employed (Sauter and Carafano, 2005). An effective sporting event security management system requires the involvement and commitment of many agencies and individuals, including professionals, volunteers, public agencies, and outsourced contractors.
