ABSTRACT

This chapter provides examples of some approaches, resources and frameworks which are being used in different settings to support transformative change. Some approaches are: transformative innovation in schools; transforming learning; learning leaders; self managed learning; setting up a parent council; parent/community skills audit; keele surveys; and a campaign for education. The International Futures Forum (IFF) is working to support transformative innovation in schools and has designed an approach and a set of resources to facilitate the change process. Education Scotland has designed a Transforming Learning framework to support transformational change in Scottish schools and in early learning and childcare settings, community learning and development, education and at local authority level. The Learning Leaders approach enables young people to have input into decisions about their learning and to feedback to teachers, school departments and school leaders about their lessons. The Keele Surveys provide data to schools in response to surveys of teachers, support staff, students, parents and governors.
