ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on the costume design renderings mixed with digital media. It describes the coverage of Photoshop rendering techniques. The chapter presents some painting tools that are especially useful for costume designers such as brush choices, creating brushes, creating patterns, scanning fabric swatches, wrapping fabric over figures, and creating backgrounds. Many digital media software programs are available for designers/artists, such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Painter, Geometer's Sketchpad, Autodesk SketchBook Pro, Procreate, and ArtRage. Some of the tool icons have a little arrow at the bottom right hand corner that means that there is more than one option under that specific tool. Most people know how to use the basic paint tools and functions. Photoshop provides powerful tools for creating art and design work. There is so much more to explore in Photoshop and so many ways and options for painting costume sketches.
