ABSTRACT

Some students may be feeling nauseous from the spinning and swinging and others may have headaches from being upside down. A few, who are deathly afraid of heights, may experience symptoms of anxiety. The students just need to be patient. The body needs a chance to adapt. The length of time it takes for the student to adjust to aerial is individual. Because of the intense nature of the form and the fact that everyone reacts differently, it's important for students to determine for themselves if they are up to it. The time between groups lengthens again as phrasing becomes longer and richer. Resting is not time wasted. In fact, it gives the student the opportunity to participate more over the long term. This is also a kindness to their bodies. Because they are taking time to recuperate during class, they aren't hobbling home from class and unable to move the next day.
