ABSTRACT
The concluding chapter generalises insights on public involvement derived from the field of RWM to other land uses and, more broadly, environmental matters. It takes a final look at public involvement and emphasises its strong ties with politics, particularly when it takes place during policy implementation. Public involvement interrelates, indeed, with elements that are at the core of politics: the resolution of conflicts; the distribution of power; and democracy.
