ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 compares the results of the case studies to draw conclusions about the role of external-domestic interactions in capturing peacebuilding reforms in Kosovo. The discussion is structured according to key categories of the analytical framework: to showcase that non-strategic interactions might offer a viable alternative explanation, the role of prioritisation, selectivity and leverage is discussed in detail and an analysis of how these ultimately influenced the peacebuilding outcome in a given environment is provided. The chapter proceeds to compare all peacebuilding outcomes, showing that none of the standard explanations were able to fully predict them.
