ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at working in the Browser to organize your footage using FCP's tools for working with metadata, the extra information attached to a piece a media that either comes from the camera itself or that you add to it. There are no firm rules about how you organize your media, and each production or series tends to dictate its own organizational structure. You can rename a clip in the Browser in either Filmstrip view or in List view. The chapter also looks at naming our clips and deleting clips. It discusses to create keywords, and made Keyword Collections, made Favorites and Rejects, and organized our event in collections and folders. The chapter uses the search filter to make Smart Collections. It also looks at Smart Collections created by analysis. The chapter deals with some advanced editing tools—Compound Clips and Auditions—and used them for grouping and organizing our media.
