ABSTRACT

Every program is enhanced with graphics, whether they are a simple opening title and closing credits or elaborate motion graphics sequences. This could be simply a map with a path snaking across it created in iMovie or a full-scale 3D animation explaining the details of how an airplane is built. The application has nearly 200 built in titles including gorgeous, extraordinarily high quality 3D titles. This chapter looks at FCP's Title Browser, starting with its Build In/Out titles and the basic text controls and text styles. It explores how to do simple fades using the video animation controls. The chapter works with Lower Thirds and the find text and replace feature. It looks at the features available in 3D titles and created a simple Custom 3D animation. The chapter shows Generators and how they can be used. It looks at how FCP handles graphics files and still images.
