ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at and work with Final Cut's effects. FCP offers a great variety of excellent effects, including great color correction tools. The effects are divided into two main groups, video and audio. Effects can also be removed equally simply. Many effect values can be animated just like audio parameters by adding keyframes so they can be altered over time. The Color Wheel graph allows you to select the core color of your key, and using the angle controls allows you to adjust the edge transparency. The best tool for creating room acoustics is Logic's Space Designer. In addition to having its own design Heads Up Display, it has a staggering number of presets for all types of large, medium, and small spaces, with different types of rooms and halls and everything in between. Speed Transitions are added to the clip by default to smooth the speed change. They can be switched off in the Dashboard's Retime menu.
