ABSTRACT
Tough! An unpleasant read for a Sunday, disturbing content, disturbing ideas, and above all: horrific. It is impossible to read what men will do to other men, (and to women too – but that was not, ostensibly, the topic of these papers) and not despair. In broad terms, I understand that this is the point of these essays … to understand causes, to better understand how to respond, and to place sexual violence against men in a broader context. If that was it, why do I feel so uncomfortable?
