ABSTRACT
Syrian displacement in Europe has received worldwide attention and extensive media coverage. Indeed, many reports give the impression that Europe is falling apart at the seams, betraying its values, and dividing itself apart as it tries to respond to incoming Syrian asylum seekers. Consequently, this is one of the more fascinating times to be a scholar of Europe. Syrian displacement has become a defining issue of Europe’s very identity and existence.
