ABSTRACT
We discussed in Chapter 1 how all disciplinary paradigms may use both qualitative and quantitative data in varying degrees and the methodologies can visually be demonstrated in a continuum. For example, qualitative information may be numerically expressed in studies that use rating or ranking scales to measure qualitative information. Combinations of quantitative and qualitative methodologies have become more common as modes of inquiry become more elaborate.
