ABSTRACT
Organizations and the individuals inside them must manage both chronic and acute risks. In addition, they often must confront specific crises that have developed, and facilitate or provide emergency responses. Indeed, in an increasingly complex and interdependent world, effective approaches to risk, crisis, and emergency management have become exceptionally important. In response, these aspects of modern life have become focal points for academic research.
