Thefactthattheorderingrulemustbestatedintermsofhigherorder
constituentsraisesaproblembecausesometransitiveverbsoccurwith
indirectobjects,whichareNominalconstituents,inadditiontoSubject
andObjectnominals.AlthoughIhavenotstudiedsuchsentencesindetail,
itseemsthatalltwentyfourpossibleordercombinationsofSubject,Object,
Verb,andindirectobjectaregrammatical.Thiscouldbeeasilyhandled
iftheindirectobjectisitselfdominatedbysomehigherorderconstituent,
IndirectObject.Butitisnotclearthatthiswillbethecase.HereIcan
onlynotethatthesefactsmustbetakenintoaccount.Thepresentgrammar
doesnot,however,dealwiththem.Nominal-verborderingisaccounted
forbytheoptionalpermutationtransformation:
