ABSTRACT

Confidence is a part of their role to influence the behaviour of others so that the setting is working towards its organisational aim and achieves the best possible quality of service for the children who attend. confidence in their own abilities to be pro-active in their setting and to develop and shape the ways things are done, and enough confidence in their role to be able to explain to others that this is what their job is about. Developing confidence takes a combination of experience, skills, knowledge and time. Good self-esteem gives us confidence even when we may not feel confident, because whatever the situation, we will still feel at ease with ourselves afterwards. Our confidence increases when we feel good about ourselves. We can help ourselves to feel good about ourselves by taking positive steps to increase our self-esteem.
