ABSTRACT

Retrospective introduction This chapter comprises excerpts from my doctoral work, which focus on heurism as a research method. I undertook a PhD by public, i.e. published works, a process which involved presenting three previously published works, in my case, a book (Tudor, 1996b), a chapter (Tudor, 2003), and a chapter (Tudor, 2008e) that had been previously published as an article (Tudor, 2007a), together with a justifying context statement, which ran to some 30,000 words. The final title of the work was “The Fight for Health: An Heuristic Enquiry into Psychological Well-Being.”
