ABSTRACT
By 9 Geo. 3. c. 37. Church-wardens, Bec. wilfully and knowingly making any payment, to or for the poor's ufe, in bafe or counterfeit money, or any other than lawful money of Great Britain, !haU, upon conviction by one juftice, either UPOIl non-appearance, confeffion, or by the oath of one witnefs, be adjudged to forfeit not Jefa than J os. nor more than 20S. to be levied by diftrefs, &c. anll applied to the ufe of any poor perf on or perCons of the parifh, &c. in fuch manner as the juftice who fuaU adjudg~ the forfeiture {han direct and appoint.
