ABSTRACT
The p a s t two chap te r s have d e a l t with t h e d i s t i n c -
t i o n s between t h e a c t i v e and non-active forms of t h e ve rb
and t h e d i s t r i b u t i o n of t h e s e two systems over t h e c l a s s
of c l a u s a l cons t ruc t ions i n Albanian. I n t h i s c h a p t e r ,
we w i l l be dea l ing p r imar i ly with t h e syntax of d a t i v e
c l i t i c cons t ruc t ions . I n 4 . 1 it w i l l be shown t h a t t h e r e
a r e f i v e d i s t i n c t types of d a t i v e c l i t i c s , each wi th i t s
own s t r u c t u r a l and d i s t r i b u t i o n a l i d i o s y n c r a s i e s , whi le
4 . 2 w i l l d i s c u s s ways of accounting f o r t h e s e d i f f e r e n c e s
i n t h e r e l a t i o n a l grammar framework.
