ABSTRACT

Let’s make a calculation. We probably spend six years in primary education. For many of us that means at least six different teachers although in some countries there is more continuity than this. Then we move into secondary education. At this stage we probably have a different teacher for each subject that we study and this teacher may well change every year. You may then have had a driving instructor, a sports coach, a dance teacher or someone to teach you a musical instrument. It wouldn’t be a surprise if there were over 50 people who, at some stage in your life, you could call your teacher.
